This concert takes its name and inspiration from Gwendolyn Brooks’ searing poem, "Boy Breaking Glass," about a young Black boy who breaks a window, not out of vandalism, but as an act of protest and creation. The shattered glass becomes his art, a demand to be seen and heard in a world that has erased him. Through music that spans genres and idioms, we ask: What might it mean to build a future from the fragments? To lift every voice—not in support of the status quo, but in pursuit of justice, belonging, and joy.
