Celebrating the 70th anniversary of Moses Hogan’s birth, His Light Still Shines honors one of the most consequential voices in contemporary choral music. Featuring Hogan’s solo and choral works, accompanied and unaccompanied works, beloved favorites, lesser-heard selections, and his extended work “His Light Still Shines,” the program demonstrates the extraordinary breadth of his artistry. Hogan was deeply rooted in the Negro spiritual tradition, yet his musical language radically expanded its possibilities and transformed its place within contemporary choral performance. Joined by choirs from across Delaware, Elevation celebrates a living legacy that continues to nourish and inspire singers, composers, conductors, and communities worldwide. While Hogan’s life was brief, the roots of his influence continue to grow, and his light still shines.
