Join nationally sought-after conductor, clinician, and gospel practitioner Arreon A. Harley-Emerson for an immersive workshop on the authentic singing of Gospel music. The workshop will include discussion of performance practice, vocal technique, teaching, and learning in the oral/aural. Participants in the workshop will rehearse a range of gospel pieces led by Mr. Harley-Emerson. Elevate Vocal Arts staff members and vocal artists from Elevation, an all-professional, intentionally diverse vocal ensemble, will participate in the workshop and support workshop participants.
Come back for Sunday morning service, which will feature collaborative musical offerings from Elevation and the choir at Church of the Redeemer. Elevation will be joined by Penn State Essence of Joy and Essence of Joy Alumni Singers in concert at 1 pm on Sunday at Church of the Redeemer. The concert is free and open to the public. Registration is required for workshop participation and concert attendance.
